Overview
The Soul of the Northern Shan Hills
Escape the tourist trail and dive deep into the heart of Northern Myanmar with our Kyaukme Trekking 3 Days program. While Kalaw is often the go-to for many travelers, Kyaukme offers a raw, unfiltered, and deeply authentic alternative for those seeking a genuine connection with nature and indigenous cultures.
Kyaukme, a charming market town in the Northern Shan State, serves as the gateway to a landscape dominated by rolling hills, misty valleys, and endless emerald-green tea plantations. This three-day journey is designed for the intrepid soul—one who values the sound of the wind through the tea leaves over the hum of a tourist bus. You will navigate narrow mountain paths, cross bamboo bridges, and ascend ridges that offer panoramic views of a region that has remained largely unchanged for centuries.
The true highlight of this trek is the cultural immersion. You won't just be passing through villages; you will be staying in them. We spend our nights in traditional stilt houses in the villages of the Shan and Palaung ethnic groups. Imagine sharing a cup of locally grown green tea with a village elder, watching the sunrise over the mountains from a wooden balcony, and falling asleep to the peaceful silence of the countryside. This is not just a hike; it is a journey into the living history of Myanmar.
